SCREENS ARE STEALING A GENERATION’S JOY & WELL-BEING
Urgent, coordinated action from parents is needed now.
We are MAMA and we are creating change:
In our homes so that our kids can experience childhood without constant distraction and manipulation by tech companies
In our schools so that kids can focus, play and learn and teachers can actually teach
In the law so that families and teachers, not tech companies, decide what their children see.
Childhood is being stolen by screen time
Kids grow best from real life play and from time spent with people
The longer we wait to give children devices, the healthier they will be
Schools should be places to learn, not marketplaces for tech companies
If online spaces aren’t safe, they shouldn’t be available to kids
Tech companies don’t care about kids. They only care about profits
Big tech doesn’t play fair so we’re done being nice
If you believe this too:
We believe:
MAMA in the News
“A mother’s love for her child… knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.”
—Agatha Christie
A movement for parents, founded by parents
MAMA was founded by Julie Scelfo, a former New York Times staff writer, media ecologist, and mother of three. Julie was quickly joined by hundreds of other parents across the country who saw the effects social media and other addictive technologies were having on their children.
