SCREENS ARE STEALING A GENERATION’S JOY & WELL-BEING

Urgent, coordinated action from parents is needed now.

We are MAMA

Mothers Against Media Addiction is a grassroots movement of parents fighting back against media addiction and creating a world in which real-life experiences and interactions remain at the heart of a healthy childhood.

In 2024, we will:

• Establish chapters in 10 states

• Provide conversations with key leaders to parents nationwide

• Launch major awareness campaigns to drive change

We won’t stop until technology is safe for all children

Our mission is to:

Give millions of parents the tools they need to protect their kids and teens

Get smartphones out of schools so kids can learn

• Demand platforms have safeguards just like all other consumer products

MAMA in the News

“A mother’s love for her child… knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.”

—Agatha Christie

A movement for parents, founded by parents

MAMA was founded by Julie Scelfo, a former New York Times staff writer, media ecologist, and mother of three. Julie was quickly joined by hundreds of other parents across the country who saw the effects social media and other addictive technologies were having on their children.
